Strength programming for baseball and softball

Give every player the strength to match their talent

Talent gets you noticed. Strength takes you further. Helix uses the method Jono Green trains professional players with, adjusted to meet each player where they are.

Why strength

When talent stops being enough

Plenty of players reach a point where skill and hand-eye coordination can only take them so far. What comes next is the body: more power, and the strength to handle it.

More power puts more force through a player's arm and body. The Helix Method strengthens the arm to take that force, and builds in the flexibility, mobility and stability that let the body hold up under it. Staying healthy is part of the program from the first week.

How it works

From one player's test to their first session.
  1. 01 · The test
A few tests on VALD force plates.

The player tests on VALD force plates, at your facility or any other, and every number comes straight off the plates.

  2. 02 · What they need
Helix writes down what this player needs.

More power where the test came up short, a closer match between the left and right side, and an arm built to take more force.

  3. 03 · Their program
Sessions that fit around their schedule.

Every session opens with prep: mobility, breathing and stability. A week with a game gets fewer, lighter sessions. The program keeps adjusting as the calendar and the results change.

  4. 04 · The coach signs off
Your coach approves it. The player trains.

The coach reads it, swaps anything they'd do differently, and sends it. The player opens today's session on their phone and logs every set.

The full story, step by step

Same player, same program

You can check every choice it makes.

Give Helix the same player twice, with nothing changed, and you get the same program back. When a program changes, it's because something it was built from changed: the player, the schedule, the gym's setup or the method. There's no chatbot writing your programs.

Same program
Sample player · Tue · Lower body Build 1Build 2
A1 90/90 hip switch 2 × 8
B Trap bar deadlift 4 × 5
C Landmine rotational press 3 × 6 each side
D Side plank with reach 3 × 20 s

Baseball and softball

Who it's for

Helix is for serious players and the people who train them.

Baseball and softball training facilities

Give every athlete who walks in their own program, written to one standard no matter which coach is on the floor.

Travel and club teams

Put a whole roster on individual programs. Players who throw get arm care built from their own assessment, and players log their sets from their phones wherever the team trains.

High school and college programs

Programming at a strength coach's standard when you don't have one on staff.

Running a facility? Helix also handles memberships, billing, scheduling and waivers.

Where it came from

Meet players where they are, and build from there.

Jono Green has coached players all the way to the pros, and every one of them started where they were. Helix started at Symbiotic Training Center in San Diego as a way to give every athlete that kind of program, including the ones Jono can't coach in person.

Optional add-on · Coaching DNA

Already have a head coach with their own system?

Coaching DNA is an add-on that learns how your coaches program: how they open a session, and what they steer away from for a thrower. Helix still chooses every exercise and runs the same safety checks, and the drafts start to read like your staff wrote them.

Ask about Coaching DNA

The Helix Method is the first strand. Your coaching is the second.
